Emergency Break Glass
Break glass units are used on all fire systems and raise the alarm manually when someone forcibly breaks the white glass or plastic. Most of the time, they are installed in exits, corridors, landings, near high risk areas (such as cookers and kitchens), and fire escapes.
The glass works to protect the fire alarm from accidental activations. However, these alarms are activated by a pressure switch, which is why glass is incorporated into the trigger. When the glass fails or breaks, the switch will be triggered, the signal will be sent to the alarm panel, and the sound will go off.

GCP21 Break Glass Unit (Dual Contact)
The GCP21 break glass unit is designed with the iconic a green colour and is specifically engineered for the emergency release of magnetic and electronic door locks. It is for surface mounting only for “Emergency Door Release” and “Emergency Break Glass” purposes. The unit can be fitted with a specially designed MX003-N Plastic cover. However, once activated this unit needs to be re-set and fitted with new glass by a fire alarm engineer.

GCP22 Break Glass Unit (Dual Contact Resettable Style)
The CP-22 glass unit is designed with a double pole and change contacts from N/C to N/O. The main purpose of this unit is to override the electrical locking/release devices during emergency situations. A key can be used in place of the glass to trigger the alarm. It is also reusable by simply resetting and replacing the glass.
